Melinoe can also create new spells, upgrade her nocturnal arms and Nocturnal Armor, collect items from the crossroads camp to use in future runs, and unlock trinkets, weapons, boons, paths, and other tools as she goes. Another great addition is the opening up of more open regions, which provide a variety of different routes to explore each region, and an ever-changing setting to explore. Each region offers a unique approach to the Underworld. Some are more accessible than others, but all offer unique challenges that set them apart from other roguelites. Supergiant has also tweaked the gameplay in the early-access version. This has reduced some of the work required to obtain certain upgrades and makes it simpler to move between areas. Hades 2 is still far from being complete however, Supergiant has said that it will continue to refine the game and improve it to perfection. Supergiant is renowned for its ability to listen to its fans and address any issues that arise. For example, the ability to unlock new upgrades permanent for Melinoe and a new weapon, and a variety of other options that will help you fight the underworld's hordes. You'll also be able tame witchy familiars, reveal secrets at the Arcana Altar, and gather ingredients that will enhance your abilities. The most exciting enhancement is likely Omega attacks that are a brand new way to boost the power of your weapons and spells. By using these attacks you can increase your magick meter and unleash devastating strikes with massive area of impact. It's a great method to add variety to the moment-to-moment actions of combat.
